Your Mission As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will develop detailed electrical system designs, including schematics, single line drawings, layout drawings, and other essential documentation for both LV and HV electrical equipment. You will specify and select appropriate electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your responsibilities include designing electrical substations and cable layouts for power distribution, ensuring designs meet safety and efficiency requirements. You will collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients, providing detailed design documentation and integrating electrical systems with overall project requirements. Additionally, you will support construction and commissioning phases, addressing any design-related issues, and staying updated on emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions. Key Competencies Educational Background : Minimum of HNC in Electrical Engineering or a similar qualification. Technical Expertise : Solid understanding of electrical systems, principles, and design, including switchgear, transformers, and protection relays. Practical Experience : Proven experience in designing electrical systems and cable layouts for power distribution, with substation design experience as an advantage. Software Proficiency : Expertise in AutoCAD. Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to identify and solve complex technical problems in electrical designs. Safety Commitment : Knowledge of safety practices and a commitment to designing systems with safety as a top priority. Personal Competencies Communication Skills : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of professional interactions. Organisational Skills : Ability to prioritise tasks and work methodically with attention to detail.
