The role: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Support Officer to join our team. You will work on our Data and Reporting helpdesk, support with data projects, and help define requirements for reports and data projects. Working on the Data and Reporting helpdesk, you will be the initial point of contact for users seeking assistance with technical issues, queries, and general support. Your primary responsibility will be to provide prompt and effective resolution to user concerns while ensuring a positive experience. Another part of the role will be to support with the implementation of data projects. This will involve working with the wider team and stakeholders in the business with administrative and business analysis tasks. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to embark on the Imperial College and Corndel Business Change Professional Programme which is a level 4 apprenticeship in Business Analysis. Responsibilities include: Helpdesk Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming technical queries, issues, and requests relating to BI reports. Respond to user queries promptly and professionally, providing clear and concise explanations and guidance. Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by users, including but not limited to access issues, navigation difficulties, and functionality errors within our reporting tools. Document support tickets, including details of the problem, actions taken, and resolutions achieved, to maintain a comprehensive record of user interactions. Conduct regular checks and tests to ensure the proper functioning of BI reports, reporting any bugs or system errors encountered to the relevant teams for resolution. Including monitoring refresh failures on our Power Bi service. Proactively identify areas for improvement and collaborate with stakeholders to implement enhancements accordingly. Project support Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and documentation of key decisions and action items. Support with the gathering of requirements for projects, such as the development of new BI reports. Assist in mapping of current internal processes and contribute to the development of proposed future workflows and systems enhancements. Conducting testing on solutions prior to their final release. Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and meeting minutes. Ensure that all project-related documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Business Analysis Apprenticeship Participate in an apprenticeship program focused on developing skills in business analysis. Learn to gather and analyse business requirements, document processes, and identify areas for improvement. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical users. Prior experience in customer support or technical troubleshooting is advantageous but not required. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing customer needs. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
