Site Reliability Engineer - Mid-level - Remote Days: Wednesday-Tuesday (5 days per week ) Shifts: 2 pm-11 pm UK time Job Description As our new platform launches into the market, our Site Reliability Engineers (SRE), will be at the heart of the action, ensuring that our digital services operate seamlessly, reliably, and efficiently, even amidst the complexities of scale and unpredictability. You will have a keen eye for identifying and mitigating potential points of failure, and you'll craft resilient systems that empower our teams to innovate. Our micro-services are dependable, testable, and easy to maintain. Leveraging AWS cloud-native solutions and our robust logging tools, each engineer contributes to ensuring informed decision-making within our dynamic environment. Your Day-to-Day Within your role, meaningful conversations with colleagues of all levels are essential. Engaging as an empathic listener, who can both influence and be influenced. We work closely together - we support each other but expect to be challenged daily, too. Our teams are cross-functional - as an SRE every day you will collaborate with : Software Engineering, DevOps, QA and Security Teams. You will be responsible for the orchestration of microservices with Kubernetes, ensuring seamless coordination for scalability and fault tolerance. Development of comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions using Grafana, providing insightful visualisations for system health and performance. Accountable for the management of cloud infrastructure on AWS, leveraging its extensive services to architect robust and resilient systems. Implementation of API gateways with Kong, fortifying digital pathways with stringent security and access control measures. You will be working infrastructure automation using Terraform, enabling the creation of reliable and reproducible environments. Utilising ArgoCD for the deployment of infrastructure components, ensuring seamless and efficient delivery of updates across the system. You will implement Linkerd within Kubernetes clusters to enhance service-to-service communication, fostering a secure and resilient mesh network that guarantees optimal performance and reliability. You have a proven track record of managing and troubleshooting containerized environments. Experience of enabling the creation of reliable and reproducible environments in infrastructure automation with Terraform. You will have previously set-up comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions to ensure system health and performance. It’s key you have familiarity with implementing and maintaining service mesh architectures to improve reliability and security. We require a proven track record of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and ensure system stability and uptime.
