Our commitment to our patients is in the quality of our care, the range of our services and the quality of our consultants and staff To be considered for this position you must hold a professional registration as a Pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council GPC As the Lead Clinical Pharmacist your key responsibilities include: To provide a clinical service to the wards, the Hospice and associated departments in accordance with professional, departmental and Hospital policiesContinually promote the responsible, safe and cost-effective prescribing of medicines to optimise clinical outcomes, minimise adverse reactions and errorsAvailable to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff to answer queries relating to individual patients and any protocols and policies within the HospitalUndertake clinical audit projects involving the use of medicines within the HospitalIdentify changes in prescribing practices that may impact on the drugs budget and advise the Chief Pharmacist accordinglyProvide professional, managerial and clinical leadership to all pharmacy staffEnsure that compliance with legal, ethical and other applicable standards are achieved within the post holder’s designated areas of responsibilityRecord regularly clinical interventions and activities in line with departmental policyAttend Multidisciplinary Team Meetings MDTs to represent PharmacyAttend Policy Practice Group meetings/Medicines Management Group meetings as requiredTake part in Saturday and late rota as requiredTake part in on-call rota as requiredParticipate in the departmental staff appraisal programme, identifying development, training needs and monitoring continuing professional development as per departmental policy and national guidelines from the General Pharmaceutical Council The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role: 2 years must be within a clinical pharmacy role within a hospital settingPalliative care experiencePost- registration experience within a hospital settingSubstantial experience of working within a role involving multidisciplinary communicationExperience in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines as well as writing and presenting complex reportsAccurate clinical, dispensing and checking abilitiesExperience and awareness of drug cost issues.Has provided medication counselling to patientsMultidisciplinary working with Nursing and/or Medical colleaguesWorking with private patientsAnalysis and application of complex clinical data and financial software and billingsExperience of motivating and managing staff effectively The successful Lead Clinical Pharmacist will receive an excellent salary of £52,356.85 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week.
