Within the Community Safety Unit, the Councils Video Surveillance System (VSS) provides essential services to help make the borough one that is safe, clean, and one in which our residents take pride. Our teams highly varied workload focuses on delivering outcomes for residents whilst working alongside a range of internal and external partners. The Community Safety Unit, and the VSS Service, has benefited from significant recent investment. We are proud to offer a service which provides VSS functionality across three boroughs : Hammersmith and Fulham, Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea as well as Westminster City Council : providing one of, if not the largest, VSS offerings. Our shared infrastructure is one of the most extensive in the UK and is held in high regard for its performance in identifying and preventing crime across three boroughs. You will work within the Community Safety Unit reporting to the VSS Operations Manager and be responsible for managing a team of operators, ensuring that taskings are completed and returns made, our partners are engaged and supported as required alongside undertaking operational work ensuring that our cameras are monitored, crimes identified, perpetrators perused and victims supported. Daily you'll work across services and with a range of partners to deliver "business as usual" while also being the lead for one of the three boroughs within the service. You will work with the relevant borough led to deliver reports, work returns and ensuring that operational plans are developed and delivered with colleagues ensuring that any one of the areas many events, football matches and tourist destinations are safe and monitored. You will be required to work a shift pattern covering a 24/7, 365 rota for which you will receive the appropriate shift enhancement. The rota will consist of a "four on four off" pattern comprising 12hr shifts, days and nights. This post requires permanent office:based presence and is not suitable for home working. for this post, you must have experience working as a CCTV operator for a significant time and either be currently managing a team(s) or have the transferrable skills to become a new manager. You will need to obtain an SIA license as part of the conditions of this role. If you do not already have an SIA license we will train you as holding a SIA license during probation is a pre:requisite to become a permanent employee. for this post, you must evidence your experience in your personal statement.
