Are you a designer with an in depth knowledge of weave, print and embroidery experience? Do you have experience working in the home textiles industry? If so then this is an excellent opportunity to work within a small, friendly team based in Croydon. Our client is a long established, industry leading organisation who offer bespoke textiles and tailor:made manufacturing services to meet their customers individual requirements. They are looking for a versatile textile designer to join their fast paced design studio in Croydon, South London. Benefits: * Annual leave entitlement of 28 days rising to 30 after 2 years up to a maximum of 34 (inclusive of Bank Holidays)* Medical scheme** Life insurance** Company pension scheme* Following successful probation* The successful candidate will be responsible for creating original artwork and designs for our in house collections and client briefs. They will also work closely with our factories from sampling stages to final production. Although this is a design role there will also be a lot of design admin alongside such as completing fabric spec sheets, liaising with suppliers over zoom/email and following up on projects. Other duties include: * Produce commercial and innovative designs for the luxury home textiles market* Research, develop and collate trend information for presentations in team meetings* Work collaboratively with designers and senior designers* Liaise with the companys factories in India on a daily basis to manage the critical path This role would suit someone with a passion for luxury, high end designs, a love of colour and a motivated character to combine these two elements to create and produce beautiful, commercial designs and develop their career within the industry. Essential skills required: * At least 3 years experience within a similar role working for a brand or supplier of home textiles* Knowledge of luxury home textiles interiors market (within the UK, USA and Europe highly desirable)* Proficient in Photoshop* Ability to separate and colour CAD files* Good knowledge of layout and repeats* Expert hand drawing and painting abilities* Knowledge of woven textiles (jacquard and hand loom), printing (silk screen printing and block printing), CAD and hand embroidery Other skills required: * Excellent communication and organisation skills* Able to prioritise workload with exceptional attention to detail* The ability to use own initiative, multi:task and work under pressure* The ability to work in a fast paced environment* Confident in producing ideas (mood boards and presentations) and acting on these through trend research* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)* An interest and awareness of different surface design techniques is highly desirable Job details: * Designer (Home Textiles)* Croydon, Surrey* Full Time : Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm If you have the right skills and experience for this role, we would like to hear from you.
