Materials Planner

Are you an experienced Materials Planner and come from a Manufacturing background? I am recruiting for a Manufacturing business who are looking to add to their team. The role will be reporting to the Planning Manager, this role supports the procurement, planning and stock management of all aluminium to ensure consistent flow into the business to effectively meet demand. If this sounds like you, get in touch I would love to speak with you The Role: * Assess material demand in line with the production plan and the finished good stock holding policy* Issue purchase and call off orders accordingly in line with the production plan and metal stock holding targets* Review all order confirmations and make amendments where necessary* Review all purchase orders and close off when complete* Regularly review and expedite future supply communicating any potential shortfalls* Ensuring inbound documentation is uploaded timely and efficiently.* Review and respond to all forecast amendments where applicable* Process MRP run* Where shortfalls occur, all potential resolutions should be investigated and proposed to the business and if agreed processed accordingly* Monitor inventory levels against agreed targets* Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy* Implement new procedures and improvements within the department* Supplier performance monitoring* Assist with new product development and requirements thereof* To understand the production plan process and to assist when required* Monitor the production plan material demand and liaise with transport to make sure that metal is called back as required from third party storage* Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organisation Experience: * SAP Knowledge desirable* Strong organizational and time management skills.* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and material management systems Salary: Up to A GBP 33,000 DOE + Bonus Hours: Mon : Fri : 8:45am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. 45 minutes for lunch.
