This role is crucial in ensuring that our fleet maintenance operations run smoothly by providing timely and efficient logistical support. The ideal candidate will have experience in vehicle maintenance, storekeeping, and a strong understanding of various vehicle components. Key Responsibilities: Provide just-in-time logistic support for vehicle safety and maintenance.Process requisitions and purchase orders for vehicle parts and equipment.Operate a fork lift truck and other vehicles safely.Ensure all goods received meet quality standards and resolve any issues with suppliers.Maintain accurate records of inventory and assist in regular audits.Monitor and report on inventory trends and customer feedback. Essential Criteria: Significant practical experience in vehicle maintenance and storekeeping.Knowledge of a wide range of vehicle makes, types, and components.Strong decision-making skills and the ability to organise and plan work.Ability to monitor inventory levels and evaluate best sources of supply.Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude.Awareness of the cost and resource implications of own work. Desirable Criteria: Experience operating a fork lift truck. Special Conditions: The role requires adherence to Dorset Police's Values and Ethics.Specific health and safety training may be required.Standard vetting clearance is required prior to appointment.
