An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Charge Nurse/Team Leader to work in an exceptional mental health service based in the Edmonton, London area. You will be working for one of UKs leading health care providers. This special mental health service is a low secure rehabilitation and recovery facility split into five independent living units for. They provide 24:hour specialist care and support for those with enduring mental health needs **To be considered for this position you must be qualified as an Registered Nurse with a current active NMC Pin** As a Charge Nurse/Team Leader your key responsibilities include: * Managing admissions and discharges * Planning the nursing staff roster * Supervising and guiding other nurses and cares in their work * Monitoring patients, administering medication following companys policy and reporting patients condition to doctors * Maintaining inventories of medical supplies and medicines * Mentoring and training new staff, providing support and guidance to all staff members The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role: * Have clinical and leadership experience that provides the expertise and confidence required to support the wider nursing team * Be able to respond flexibly to change and the developing needs of the service * Be responsible for deputising in the absence of the ward manager if necessary and therefore must demonstrate a willingness to develop and expand on their existing roles and responsibilities * Be role models for their peers and demonstrate core values at all times therefore the expectations of this will need to be clearly set out * It is also desirable to have experience in a forensic setting though a keen desire to work in this challenging field is necessary * The role will require being a clinical lead and an understanding and knowledge of patients needs is essential * You will need to demonstrate the ability to assess and teach junior staff and have good leadership skills. The ability to have a flexible, positive, team orientated approach is required The successful Charge Nurse/Team Leader will receive an excellent salary of GBP41,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week.
