Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Randstad C and P are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist subcontractor working on civils, groundworks and highways projects across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire The subcontractor are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a background in the Civil Engineering industry, looking to take their next step with an ambitious company who can develop and propel their career forwards. Responsibilities: * Monitor and control project costs to ensure the project remains within the budget. * Identify and manage any cost variations or overruns. * Carry out regular site measurements and valuations of the work completed. * Prepare interim and final valuation statements for payments to subcontractors and suppliers. * Ensure accurate records of work progress and materials used. * Source and negotiate with suppliers for materials and services required for the project. * Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to avoid project delays. * Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality. * Prepare and submit regular financial reports to the project management team and stakeholders. * Handle contractual issues and disputes as they arise.
