As a Caretaker you play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, teachers, and staff. We expect you to: * Have a keen eye for detail to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, or cleanliness concerns within the school premises and address them promptly. * Anticipate needs, identify potential problems, and take necessary actions to prevent issues from escalating. * Perform manual labour, such as lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive tasks, so physical fitness and stamina are important. * Be resourceful and capable of finding practical solutions to various maintenance challenges and unexpected situations that may arise. * Effectively communicate with school staff, students, and external contractors, as well as for accurately reporting maintenance issues and coordinating tasks. * Dealing with diverse individuals and situations with patience, empathy, and respect for others perspectives and needs. Preferred Skills: * Good communication skills are essential for interacting with school staff, contractors, and others. * Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors. * Proficiency in various cleaning techniques and knowledge of cleaning products and equipment. * Strong organisational skills to maintain schedules, keep track of inventory, and prioritise tasks effectively. Personal Attributes: * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one). * Legal right to work in the UK. * Comprehensive CV covering the last 10 years of education/employment history with any breaks explained.
