You will be expected to travel to Royal Mail's operational and non:operational sites when the business requires. If you're a highly experienced Ergonomics professional with a proven track record of delivering major projects in large complex organisations with a consistent record of delivering excellence, then we want to hear from you. As SME (subject matter expert) you will work on initiatives such as the introduction of new technology, the development of automation, implementation of new equipment, assessment of change activity and the opportunity to introduce a step change in the manual handling standards and the proactive management of musculoskeletal conditions. Your work will also give you the opportunity to contribute to the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors studies. About the role :Manage and assure the application of ergonomics within all change programmes/ projects and business change initiatives.:Lead the management and assurance of external ergonomics suppliers, negotiating as required so that the appropriate levels of quality, value and professional service are provided to Royal Mail.:Provide ergonomics expertise, support, and advice to business:as:usual operations.:Assess change in legislation and industry best practise, take the necessary actions to ensure that as a business we in line or helping to shape industry standards.:Provide expert advice on, and analysis of, human contributions to accidents, incidents, and ill health data to identify and implement system improvements.:You will be the standards owner for ergonomic, manual handling, DSE and other related subjects in Royal Mail. About You Essential Skills and Qualifications: :Chartered Membership of the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors or working towards.:Significant ergonomics and inclusive design experience and knowledge within a large complex environment.:Experience of working with safety representatives and effective consultation.:Experience in a senior management position.:Educated to degree level in Ergonomics , Human Factors , Applied Psychology OR related field or equivalent qualifications is essential.:Appropriate NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) and membership of IOSH or Society of Occupational Medicine:Fully conversant with EU and UK ergonomics, inclusiveness and occupational health legislation and best practices.
