Software Engineer : Greenwich Based : Hybrid : Up:to GBP65,000 + Bonus and GBP6,000 Car Allowance We are on the hunt for a Software Engineer to join a well:known client of ours operating in the Telecommunications and Connectivity space. They are in need of a Senior Technical Resource to join their team of engineers to support and manage the ongoing development of solutions to issues across the business. The main focus for this role will be the collaboration of the software, hardware, and validation teams to ensure solutions are thoroughly tested and achieve expected functionalities. This is a hybrid role with an expectation that you will be on:site 3 days per week. Role Responsibilities: * Participate in the technical choices of architecture and working groups * Providing estimates of development timescales * When necessary, prototyping on target to remove technical uncertainties. * Work closely with the hardware team, and validation engineers * Design a software solutions that achieves the expected functionality, within system constraints * Perform tests of on the solutions (unit and then pre:integration) to test compliance and performance and write reports * Support the production and commissioning teams in analyzing problems encountered Skills, Qualifications, and Experience: * Significant experience with C/ C++ * VxWorks/Linux RtOS * Eclipse/Visual Studio/MPLAB * Experience of using communication protocols such as: * rs232/424 * SPI * CAN Bus * USB * Ethernet * Experience of the following would also be beneficial: * Development for a custom Electronic Hardware environment * Real Time, mission critical, embedded control systems * Multitask code with inter:task communications * Embedded and Web browser graphical interface : Jscript/CSS/HTML * DSP (Digital Signal Processing)
