Job Title: Calibration Technician Location: Bracknell Salary: A GBP 25,000 per annum Job Type: Full:time, Permanent Working Hours: This roles working pattern is 37 hours per week, Monday : Thursday 08.30am : 17.00pm and on Friday 08.30am : 16.30pm (with one: hour unpaid lunch) About BSRIA: Founded in 1955, BSRIA is an ISO 9001Registered test, instruments, research and consultancy organisation, providing specialist services in construction and building services. About The Role: Reporting to the Senior Calibration Technician, your role will be to test, calibrate, operate and repair electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, electrohydraulic, or electronic measuring and recording instruments, apparatus, and equipment in use within the Instrument Solutions laboratory Exci ti ng work you will be doing: * Operation of, and adherence to procedures defined within the quality manual* The conduct of traceable and UKAS accredited calibrations under ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems, respectively (following training)* The production of calibration and test certificates* Instrument fault diagnosis and some minor repairs* Liaising with clients to advise them on instrument use / repair / replacements* If required, in:house demonisations of product use to customers* Assistance to the internal sales desk dealing with technical queries* The testing, calibration and maintenance/repair of BSRIAs hire stock of instruments, Client equipment, laboratory equipment and any other associated equipment required to ensure that their performance meets the required standards* Work in a team promoting equality, diversity and inclusion* Manage personal and professional development* Any other duties commensurate with the role About you: Skills Required: * Experience gained working in a calibration laboratory to ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 (desirable)* Methodical with a practical ability including diagnostic skills* A good communicator* Numerate and literate as the work involves rudimentary calculations and a significant amount of written materials* Proficient in the use of Microsoft windows and Microsoft office packages* Ability to work unsupervised to meet deadlines.* Committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills What BSRIA can offer you: * Workplace Pension Scheme* Life Assurance : 4 times annual gross reference salary* HelpHand : Online GP Support Services* 26 Annual Holidays (pro:rata) and additional Bank Holidays* Non:contractual employee discount voucher benefit portal :peoplevalue* Company Sick Pay (after confirmation)* Eye tests* Compassionate Leave* Ride to Work Scheme* Bounty Scheme (referral program)* Christmas Shutdown period (with nominated Annual Holidays)* Free car park on a first come first serve basis* Electrical Vehicle Charging point in the car park* Employee well:being: Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 confidential service) Additional Information: As an equal opportunities employer, BSRIA is committed to the equal treatment of all current and prospective employees and does not condone discrimination on the basis of age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, or marriage and civil partnership.
