Location: The University of Southampton Science Park, Chilworth / HybridReporting to: Senior / Chief ScientistSalary: £45,000 per annumJob Type: Full time – PermanentOur client is looking to recruit three Junior Scientists to join their expanding team, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a company who are a recognised digital health leader in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). They produce game changing technology that allows a smartphone or tablet device to measure blood pressure, pulse and breathing rate simply by a patient looking into the device’s built-in camera for 40 seconds. Duties include:To manage and carry out the collection, storage and use of high-quality study data to support the development of our clients’ algorithms from all sources: synthetic, from staff and healthy volunteers, and from patients within clinical studies ensuring that all data governance requirements are met.Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data.Understand and further develop the signal processing and other techniques used to extract this information from the data stream.Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.Maintain records to ensure that all aspects of scientific analysis and discovery are comprehensively documented, specifically supporting (and further developing) our clients’ Quality Management System in this area.Present information using data visualisation techniques.Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.Collaborate within the science team and with the engineering and product teams.Carry out literature searches on & reviews to keep up to date on latest advancements in the field.Support drafting scientific papers for presentation to international conferences.ProfileEssential:STEM degree to BSc level (e.g. Biology, Physics, Maths, Biochemistry, Statistics).Experience of managing scientific activities and processes in either a commercial or research / academic environment.Strong analytical and statistical skills.Problem solving skills and ability to respond to changing demands.Excellent written and oral communication.Willingness to gain more skills in a programming and data science language (e.g. Python, SQL, R).Right to work in the UKAble to travel to the Southampton office on a Wednesday at least once a month.Desirable:Expertise in physiology.Experience of managing scientific activities and processes in either a commercial or research / academic environment.Working knowledge of at least one programming or data science language (e.g. Python, SQL, R).Expertise in signal processing or mathematical or programmatic modelling.Previous experience working in medical research especially in developing medical devices.Interest in public health and disease prevention.Professional DevelopmentOpportunities for ongoing professional growth, including access to training, conferences, and industry events.Career advancement paths within the engineering and leadership tracks.Benefits Create solutions that change the way that patients access healthcare across the globeAn opportunity to learn and grow in expertise in novel computing techniques Work alongside people from different backgrounds who are global experts in their field Hybrid working A competitive salary Free parking Please send your CV to XXXX@hrdept.co.uk
