We have an opening for a Structural Engineer to join our team at our Ipswich office to undertake designs on a variety of projects, from small domestic extensions to large, multi-storey apartment and office developments. Working alongside colleagues within the local office as well as those in other parts of the Group, you will be encouraged to develop your design experience and skills and be supported to obtain accreditation to the Institute of Structural Engineers.With project costs up to £12m and the use of the latest design software, the role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary of up to £40k will be offered, commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.JMS Group is part of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group (SEAG), a collective of esteemed engineering firms, each distinguished in its respective field, united by a shared vision of pioneering progress. The Role: Degree qualified (BEng/MEng) Structural Engineers with +2 years' relevant experience to participate in an extensive array of new and stimulating engineering challenges. Prospective Engineers will have a can-do attitude, an eagerness to continually learn and evolve, and be actively working towards chartership status (IStructE/ICE) to broaden their horizons. Positions are principally required for our Ipswich office, however, similar positions are sought in the Midlands and London offices. Responsibilities: Use the latest design software to create and manage structural designs. Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders. Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress. Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications and reports for a wide range of structures and materials Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred). Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in structural engineering. Excellent spoken and written English. Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices. Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
