Job Title: Welder / Fabricator (Skilled) Location: Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 0AN Salary : A GBP 35,000 : A GBP 40,000 per annum Job Type: Full time, Permanent Working Hours: 38 hours per week (Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Friday 07:30 to 12:50) About the Company: Heatrod Elements Ltd are looking for Welder / Fabricator to join our team working at our site in Farnworth, Bolton. Start date would be immediate and the role will be permanent. Based in Farnworth, Bolton we are the leading manufacturer of heating elements and associated process heating equipment thats required in domestic and industrial applications. About the Role: Reporting to the Operations Manager we are looking for a skilled welder/fabricator to join our team enabling us to expand our production remit by supporting us to design and build the department. Being responsible for producing metalwork products using a variety of techniques to defined specifications working within defined timescales. Its a requirement of this role to possess a wide range of skills as the right individual will be supporting the development of a new revenue stream. Key Responsibilities * Following engineering drawing, plans and technical instructions to produce metalwork products* Operating tools, machinery and welding equipment applying own knowledge and experience* Support the Quality Team with preparing standard operating procedures for the area and working to agreed standards* Cutting and forming of sheet metal* Fabrication of sheet metal/pipes/flange and fittings* Inspection including testing welds to ensure structural soundness and identify any defects* Reporting non:conformances* Contribute to constantly evolving continuous improvement* Assisting with goods in/out as and when required to support the warehouse team* Be responsible for health and safety for the work area with a pro active approach* Occasional working across other work locations and on site About you: Essential Experience and Skills: * Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment* Experience in MIG/TIG/ARC welding* Demonstrable skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings* Have worked with a range of materials : but predominantly stainless, alloys and mild steels* Ideally either a L3 NVQ Fabricating and Welding Qualification, A City and Guilds L3 in Fabricating or an advanced modern apprenticeship in Fabricating and Welding.
