Financial Controller The Role:As the Financial Controller (FC), Municipal Division, you will work as part of the Finance team to support the Commercial and Operational activities of our Municipal UK businesses. The FC will have full financial input into all aspects of the UK Municipal business. The FC will be a key member of the management structure and will be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of every aspect of Glanua financial performance in the UK. Reporting into the Finance Director, Municipal Division, the FC will contribute as part of a first-class management team.In this role you will uphold our core values and inspire a culture of trust and collaboration with our clients and respective delivery teams. You will work closely with senior commercial, operations and finance team colleagues to support them in the most beneficial way possible and contribute to the overall success of the business.Main Duties and Responsibilities:The main duties and responsibilities of the FC are outlined as follows: Support the profitable business growth agenda of the Glanua business in the UK, in partnership with the FD.Support the FD in creating and maintaining a detailed operating model of the UK Municipal business units which will connect key operational metrics of the business such as sales growth, project profitability, capital investment appraisal and new project strategies etc., with P&L items to enable the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and their teams to understand and optimise the business towards profitable growth.Support the FD in creating and maintaining trading models / forecasts of the business to enable SLT to accurately predict periodic & full year results based on trading performance.Participate in driving all aspects of the ongoing cost management, including setting detailed budgets for SLT leaders and their teams, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and introduce efficiencies.Providing support and challenge to the commercial teams, ensuring business process are applied consistently.Manage all aspects of Glanua UK cash flow management, including treasury management and other actions to maximise balance sheet efficiency.Ensure that there is a process in place so that the business meets all its tax obligations in the areas of VAT, CIS, Payroll Taxes etc.Delivering accurate, timely and relevant monthly management accounts to meet all local and group timeframes.Collaborate with the FD to lead the company’s capital investment strategy.Manage the company’s compliance to all applicable audit and governance matters.Specific responsibilities will include delivering annual statutory financial reporting in line with required timescales and applicable accounting standards; and managing external relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors and other professional advisors. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the FC role are outlined as follows: Degree/master’s in business/accounting.Qualified Accountant with 10+ years post qualification experience preferably in a similar role with a solid commercial and strategic track record.Prior Financial Controller experience, with extensive finance business partnering exposure being essential.Prior experience working in a Commercial Contracting environment is essential.Prior experience within Project Contracting industry sectors would be a distinct advantage.Prior experience with SAP(S4/Hana) would be desirable, but not essential.Prior experience operating with members of a senior leadership team.Ability to represent the Company at an elevated level externally.Strong people skills and ability to work cohesively with management team.Flexibility to work independently when required and adapt to a fast changing, dynamic environment in a purposeful manner.The role will be a Hybrid role based in our Thremhall park offices three days a week.Occasional travel within the UK as and when required.
