Data Journalism & Content Intern 3 month internship London Hybrid - 1 day a week in the London Liverpool Street office £25,000 to £30,000 pro rata We are looking for someone who has a head for numbers and a passion for writing to become our first Data Journalism and Content Intern. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop vital journalism and content writing skills, while providing valuable editorial support to the team. What you’ll be working on: Providing support to our industry-leading newsletter and reports, you’ll be putting together short pieces focused on the cross-border payments industry, as well as contributing to longer reports and data journalism-focused analysis. Through regular training sessions and one-to-one writing feedback, we’ll develop you into a writer capable of producing accurate, tight copy about the payments industry, supported by original and well-presented data visualisations. You’ll work closely with our editorial team, including our Editor-in-Chief and Sub-Editor, and will develop a strong understanding of both the industry and journalism skills and techniques. About the content team: A hybrid marketing/editorial team, the content team is a friendly group of five people whose main focus is leading the conversation on cross-border payments and FXC Intelligence’s role in it. Working in a hybrid structure, we have daily online catchups as well as regular in-person meetings. You will be expected to come into the office once a week initially, and will have both face to face and online training and support. You should apply if: - You are interested in a career in journalism or content writing. - You have demonstrable writing ability and are confident with numbers, including experience with Excel or Google Sheets. - You are interested in how the world is developing and how payments play a role. - You are committed to improving your skills and welcome friendly, supportive feedback on your work. These skills will help, but aren’t essential: - Some interest in or knowledge of the cross-border payments industry. - Some previous experience in a journalistic environment, such as working on a student newspaper. - Some experience working with and visualising data. - Awareness of/previous engagement with company financial reports.
