Our client is on the lookout for a dynamic Senior/Principal Ecologist to join their vibrant team in Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive business growth and lead technical excellence and business development. With flexibility in working arrangements, this role can be based in any of their multiple Scottish offices. You'll also have the chance to travel, including occasional overnight stays throughout the U.K. and possibly further afield, depending on project needs. Key Responsibilities: Inspiring Leadership and Team Development : Lead and develop our clients talented ecology teams, plan and allocate exciting projects, ensure top-notch quality output, manage team performance, and provide daily support and training. Innovative Business Development : Collaborate with the Director of Ecology to spearhead business development, ensure successful project delivery, and achieve high client satisfaction. Project Mastery : Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to relevant guidelines. Qualifications: Educational Excellence : A BSc and/or MSc in Ecology or a related discipline. Professional Prestige : Membership in the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). Desired Competencies: We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in various areas, including: Habitat surveys (Phase 1, UKHab, NVC). Biodiversity Net Gain and Enhancement strategies. European Protected Species surveys and licensing. Ornithology. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) chapters. Habitats Regulations Appraisal (HRA) reports. Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) and construction site operations. Technical review of ecological reports. Ecological project management. Effective communication with clients and team members. Additional Requirements: Exciting Travel Opportunities : A valid driving licence is essential for travel.
