Exciting Opportunity: Principal Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer Our client is thrilled to announce an opening for a Principal Geo-Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic chance to lead, inspire, and drive technical excellence while contributing to business growth. In this Principal role, you will have the exciting responsibility of developing your team, enhancing team performance, and coaching and supervising supporting staff. You'll be working within a passionate and supportive team, striving to achieve group targets for sales, successful project delivery, and exceptional client satisfaction. The successful candidate will be based at our client's office in the UK. However, the role may require travel and occasional overnight stays throughout the UK and possibly beyond, depending on project requirements. Our client values flexibility and is open to considering working arrangements that best suit your lifestyle. Key Qualifications: - Educational Background: A BSc, BEng, or MSc/MEng in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Earth Sciences, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline. - Professional Status: Chartered Engineer status is ideal, or you should be on the path to achieving it. Experience and Skills: - Industry Expertise: A proven track record in geo-environmental/geotechnical consultancy within the UK. - Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge and experience in geo-environmental and geotechnical principles and practices, including planning and supervising ground investigations, reporting, and preparing contract drawings, site investigation specifications, and schedules in compliance with UK standards. - Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex data and provide clear, actionable insights. - Team Leadership: The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage and mentor junior colleagues, and foster a positive, productive team environment. - Organizational Skills: Excellent ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and budget requirements. - Problem-Solving: Creative and quick-thinking, with a knack for developing innovative and practical engineering solutions. - Personal and Professional Development: Commitment to personal growth and the ability to support the learning and development of others. - Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building robust relationships with colleagues, clients, and contractors. Clear and positive communication, including the production of well-structured reports, is essential. - Project and Financial Management: Skills in financial control, project management, and contract management are advantageous.
