Description:

Opportunity: We are currently searching for a driven individual to fill a new vacancy as an Associate Ecological Consultant at a nationally recognised, environmentally conscious consultancy firm. As an Associate Ecological Consultant, you will assist the ecology team in delivering client projects via the use of your technical expertise and professional leadership qualities in all areas of your work. You will also engage in wider company projects, enabling real, positive environmental change whilst working alongside other divisions within the business such as landscape design, arboriculture and forestry. Promoting the company’s values, you will combine the inter-departmental approach with your own adept ability to foster environmental growth on a larger scale outside of standard development. Responsibilities: Taking on an Associate Ecological Consultant role comes with a variety of responsibilities including: * You will be taking the lead role for the ecology team at both company offices. * Leading on Project Management, distributing workload between members of the ecology teams. * Acting as main contact point for key project stakeholders. * Variety of technical documentation preparation including EcIA’s, BNG assessments and EPSM licenses. * Undertaking a client facing and business winning position to develop company client base. * Involvement in fee proposals for larger scale developments, including more intricate areas of work. * Heading up continued professional development of the team both via personal delivery and through external industry trainers. Qualifications & Experience: * Hold at least one EPSM license – Bats and Dormice are preferred. * FISC level 3. * Strong understanding of environmental legislature and planning. * Demonstrable experience in Project Management, particularly with larger developments. * Experience as a named/accredited ecologist on a mitigation license. * Experience using DEFRAs biodiversity metric. * CIEEM membership or on-track for full member status. * Experienced creating and executing mitigation strategies for new initiatives. * A specialism within a specific ecological discipline e.g. horticulture is desirable. * Registration under the Natural England Bat Class license is desirable. * Experience with HRAs, EIA components and/or BREEAM are desirable. * Proven ability to enhance technology within ecology department e.g. geographical systems, data collection etc. is desirable.
