Summary We want to work with an Editor and Curator of Children’s Literature who will help curate, review, and edit our fiction and non-fiction children’s literature. A unique opportunity to join a renowned international charitable publisher and make a major impact in shaping the content for our reading app for children. Responsibilities Curation of fiction from public domain Curation of original non-fiction material Finding and selecting public domain works for adaptation Modernising texts Make adjustments according to feedback informed by text analysis and readability metrics Reviewing and editing writers' work Working with illustrators and graphic designers Qualifications & Work Experience Experience editing original content for children Familiarity with CEFR levels and grading methods Experience curating content for libraries Behavioural Competencies Ability to engage children through written content Quality-oriented while meeting deadlines Excellent communication skills Strong creative and critical thinking skills Attention to detail Flexibility and willingness to learn About You: You will be a highly capable communicator with excellent relationship-building skills and comfortable working cross-culturally. Experience in publishing is desirable. You will have a passion for books and the power of literature to change lives. About Hindawi Foundation: The Hindawi Foundation is an established UK charity with a mission to inspire a love of reading and enable access to knowledge for Arabic speakers. Our books reach millions of readers every year. Location and Compensation This is a full-time (35 hours a week) position working from our Windsor office. The gross annual salary is £30,000-£36,000, depending on experience, and there are 28 days of leave, exclusive of bank holidays.Powered by JazzHR
