Senior Acoustic Consultant (Hybrid) Salary - £40,000 - £55,000 depending on experience. Locations: Manchester, Sheffield, Bristol, Cardiff, Cambridge Company Overview: We are a leading consultancy firm in the Environmental sector. With a presence in key cities across the UK, we provide comprehensive acoustic solutions to a diverse range of clients. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant to join our team in any of our five offices: Manchester, Sheffield, Bristol, Cardiff, or Cambridge. This is a hybrid working role with travel required to attend client meetings, project sites and business development events as required . Job Summary: The Senior Acoustic Consultant will be responsible for managing and delivering acoustic projects, providing expert advice to clients, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both environmental and building acoustics, along with strong technical, analytical, and project management skills. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead and manage acoustic projects from inception to completion. 2. Conduct environmental noise and vibration assessments, including noise monitoring and predictive modelling. 3. Perform building acoustics assessments, including sound insulation testing, room acoustics, and building services noise control. 4. Prepare detailed technical reports and provide recommendations to clients. 5. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met. 6. Provide expert witness services in planning appeals and public inquiries. 7. Mentor and support junior acoustic consultants and provide technical guidance. 8. Stay updated with the latest industry standards, regulations, and best practices. 9. Develop and maintain strong client relationships to secure repeat business. 10. Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals and identifying new opportunities. Required Skills and Qualifications: 1. A degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline. 2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a consultancy environment. 3. Strong knowledge of environmental and building acoustics principles and practices. 4. Proficiency in using acoustic modelling software (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN). 5. Experience with sound level meters and other acoustic measurement equipment. 6. Excellent report writing and communication skills. 7. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 8. Chartered membership of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) or working towards it is desirable. 9.
