By using CompTIA practice, learn, and labs provided to you as part of your apprenticeship, you'll be able to prepare yourselves for the following exams: CompTIA A + (Exam 1 and 2) CompTIA Cloud Essentials This is an excellent opportunity to join a school’s ICT network by identifying system requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring system performance. You will promote the school’s use of cutting-edge technologies as directed by the ICT Strategy Manager. Additionally, you will support e-safety initiatives across all school stakeholders and provide technical support for the entire school's technological needs. JOB PURPOSE Maintain ICT network by identifying system requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring system performance Promote the School’s use of Technologies as leading edge as directed by the ICT Strategy Manager Support with e-Safety across all School Stakeholders. Provide technical support for whole School use RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in Maintaining and administering school’s Parent App and Google Suite Support Windows 7 desktop environment by working both independently and as part of a team. Knowing School network system infrastructure based on evaluation and research. Upgrade network devices by liaising with vendors and services, planning and setting up lab environment, testing of PC and other network hardware and software, operating system management and defining system and operational policies and procedures. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary. Create, change, and delete user accounts per request and protect School's value by keeping information confidential. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale. Cover for other team members Undertake appropriate School-wide tasks as agreed or directed Provide New Technologies services for the school Develop and deliver training programmes for staff on use of New Technologies Support staff in adapting and integrating digital learning resources. Install, configure, maintain and repair software, hardware and peripherals, and undertake such other tasks as may be required from time to time consistent with the post. Assist in the recording of New Technologies related hardware within the school, making sure that all equipment has been security marked, serial numbers logged and to include all software packages, ensuring the School is properly licensed. Investigate reported faults, to maintain a record of faults and to undertake repairs or operate agreed procedures should third party repair be needed. Support in the maintenance of interactive whiteboards and projector filters. Perform routine maintenance tasks: e.g. creating images, machine and mouse cleaning, lead checking, updating virus protection and general housekeeping of all systems. Analyse hardware and software faults and apply the relevant solution. Ensure that all electrical equipment supporting New Technologies is validated by a portable appliance test and to inform the Premises Manager of any invalidated equipment. Assist in the recording of a log for all maintenance work to be done, and all work undertaken. Organise and administer the acquisition of spare and replacement parts for New Technologies equipment, in full consultation with the ICT Strategy Manager. To be fully conversant with the national and local context of developments in New Technologies, and to develop the full range of professional skills and knowledge needed to satisfy the requirements of the post General Responsibilities Promote the School’s values and ethos in accordance with the School’s Professional Code. Identify personal training needs with line manager and work actively to develop professional expertise by participating in ongoing professional development. Support the professional development of colleagues. To ensure that personal knowledge base is in keeping with the School’s needs at all times, to undertake all duties with due regard for Health and Safety regulations. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the School The training you'll be provided with: Comprehensive introductory modules to technical concepts Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard Training for all pathways of your IT career (support technician, network technician, digital communications technician) Specialising in a portfolio of evidence for the Support Technician pathway e-learning training materials Bi-weekly virtual classroom training on all options of the apprenticeships; Access to virtual labs to develop technical competency Monthly work-based coaches visits and competency checks 9 am – 5 pm Support desk for technical support Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Key Skills development Option for vendor and technical certificates- e.g. CompTIA You will also have the opportunity to network with a range of other apprentices on our programme who can share ideas, offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other! As one of our apprentices, you will also have access to our online portal that will provide you with information and technical guidance, as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give real-time advice and support. Is enthusiastic about digital developments and has an active interest in IT keeps up to date with current technology and trends Working Week: 30 hours, 52 weeks Salary: £16000 pa – Desired Qualifications: We require someone who is educated to GCSE standard English and Maths grade 4 (or above), or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths. Expected Duration: 15 months and 4 Months End Point Assessment Other Important Information: Successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check (previously known as CRB). Evidence of previous qualifications is required, evidence of right to work in the UK and two references.
