Geo-Environmental Consultant

Location:
Country
Description:

Opportunity: If you’re a Geo-Environmental Consultant, with some preliminary experience working on geo-environmental projects, who is looking to further progress within their field, you could be the candidate for this role. This opportunity will see you join a new team in the Geo-Environmental division as part of this client’s expansion plan into a new Birmingham office. Being part of a new team may sound daunting, but comes with advantages, like being able to develop your knowledge base through progressive training and the chance to one day progress within the team and adopt a leadership style position as a senior consultant. As well as training and progression, this opportunity also offers the ability to work across multiple industry sectors, keeping work interesting and engaging as you contribute to innovative developments. Responsibilities: Although each day will bring its own unique challenges, there are a number of regular responsibilities you’ll be expected to undertake in your daily work life. These will include: * Understanding the services provided by client and the market within which it operates to help develop the company. * Undertaking standard site management including ground investigations, focusing particularly on the Health & Safety aspect. * Produce risk assessments and desk studies. * Compile site data for use in reports and develop interpretive reports to include conceptualised models for each site and execution of standardised risk assessments. * Enable a healthy cohesion between the Project lead and client to guarantee successful communication. * Effectively create key outputs (including specs and documents), making certain they are at or beyond client needs/expectations, as well as meeting company and national standards. Requirements: You will be someone with a relevant degree, e.g. Environmental Science/Geoscience, Geo-Engineering etc. You will also be someone who has some experience working in the geo-environmental sector, such as geotechnics or remediation/land use. Ideally you will also have experience monitoring contractors and being on site in general. This is important as you will need to be aware of the potential Health & Safety risk associated with site work. Alongside this, you will also need to possess a full, clean UK driving license, a membership to a relevant professional body/society (e.g. IEMA or IES) and be capable of producing high-quality reports, with some focus around Phase 1 & 2 environmental reports either independently at home or within your local office. If you think you have the required experience to fit this role, please click ‘Apply’ below to submit your cv for review.
