Stress Engineer We are currently working alongside one of the globes largest and most prestigious manufacturing businesses, to help them find a number of experienced Mechanical Stress Engineers...Stress Engineer We are currently working alongside one of the globes largest and most prestigious manufacturing businesses, to help them find a number of experienced Mechanical Stress Engineers on a contract basis helping with the analysis of some of the businesses main product range.The company are a long established and incredibly well known manufacturing company producing electro-mechanical solutions across the world for a huge range of industries. As a Stress Engineer you will be responsible for stress, vibration, and heat transfer analyses. Stress Engineer responsibilities can also include providing technical expertise on a variety of projects and programs. Key Responsibilities as Stress Engineer: - Perform stress analysis using complex finite element & classical book calculation methods, & support testing - Perform heat transfer analysis in practice and theory analytical correlations and complex finite element methods and related topics in thermodynamics, single and multi-phase flows, and energy systems - Provide technical oversight to global engineering teams across time zones - Provide technical guidance to junior engineers - Requirements validation - Project and product compliance - Risk management - Process Development - Root Cause and Corrective Action Key attributes as Stress Engineer: - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field with emphasis in heat transfer or thermal sciences & stress analysis - Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elasto-plastic, fatigue HCF & LCF, modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, & crack growth analyses - Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software & classical hand calculation methods - Team Player - Ability to mentor others - Significant experience with new product development in a highly regulated environment - Ability to analyse and solve complex and challenging problems - Effectively operate in a matrix organisation - Track record of successful contribution to products & projects - Keen mindset to envision process improvements and execution of such initiatives - Excellent written and oral communication skills Pay Rate: £45- £65 p/h depending on experienceExpected Contract duration: 12 monthsContract is to be deemed as inside IR35 This is a full time contract position for the successful Stress Engineer.
