Consultant/Senior Ecologist

Opportunity: Are you a consultant or senior level ecologist, seeking fulfilling work for a company that cares about your wellbeing and career advancement whilst also enabling positive environmental change? This Ecologist position will allow you to develop your skillset in a recognised multidisciplinary environmental firm whilst working on a large variety of engaging projects. Some examples of client industries this company have worked in include renewables, residential and conservation. In this role you’ll be limited to 1–2-night surveys per week, provided with consistent internal and external training, assisted in the pursuit of EPSM licenses and working alongside like-minded ecologists with a range of sub-specialisms such as ornithologists, bats and BNG. Responsibilities: Your role as the new member in the ecology team will be encompass a range of duties, these include but are not limited to: * Undertaking a variety of surveys including UKHab and Protected Species. * Technical report writing, Ecological Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain and post-consent reports. * Taking on a client facing role, acting as a main point of contact for clients, whilst also aiding in the development of the business in relation to the ecology department and wider company. * As a senior, you will be expected to mentor and help develop more junior members of the ecology team in order to promote depth of growth within the department. Requirements: To be successful in your application for this position, you should be able to meet the following criteria: * You should possess at least 2 EPSM licenses. More is obviously more desirable. * You should have 1-3 years working within an Ecology related position. * You will need to have some experience working in conjunction with the UK planning system, with direct experience in the residential projects being highly desirable. * You will have a strong working knowledge of BNG and UK legislature and policy framework regarding protected species.
