Specialist Support WorkerSpecialist Support WorkerDuration: Initially 6 months Hours: 36 hours a week Rate: £20 umbrella an hourSouthwark Council are currently looking for a Specialist Support Worker to join their All Age Disability/Learning Disability Team. As a Specialist Support Worker you will: Undertake assessments and create effective support plansUndertake direct work with service users and their families/carers and/or support workers to implement the support plan and behaviour intervention methodsPromote access to social, leisure and education opportunities to enrich service users quality of lifeProvide advice, guidance and consultation to social care practitioners, families, carers, support staff and other professionalsWrite reports, case records and correspondences in line with departmental guidelines and policy and undertake all administrative duties relating to the social care function Requirements Knowledge of disabilities and the impact they can have on individuals livesPBS qualification e.g. BTEC Level 4 Professional Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support or equivalent professional or lived experienceExperience in a similar role
