We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Waltham Forest to assist with the appointment of a Animal Care Assistant , on a 3-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £12.25 - £15.14 per hour Responsibilities: Making sure that dogs are in good health and properly cared for whilst in kennels and being transported Animal Welfare Cleanliness of kennels Awareness of reportable or communicable disease Transportation of dogs Dealing with member of the public Dealing with confrontation Reporting defect to vehicle and equipment Work shift pattern, working outside normal hours including evenings and weekend, flexibility to change shift according to service requirements. Qualifications: Driving licence Own transport Experience of working in kennels environment in all weathers Experience in handling of aggressive and dangerous dogs Working knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act Working knowledge of the Dangerous Dogs Act Ability to work with minimum supervision Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
