The Team You will be part of the GEO (Genetically Engineered Organisms) Team and work alongside the wider Alloy ecosystem that includes our Discovery Services, 82VS, Bioinformatics and a wide network of partners and collaborators. The goal of our team is to develop innovative transgenic platforms to support the antibody discovery efforts of our internal groups and of our external partners with the ultimate goal of delivering the best medicines to the patients. We’re a small diverse team and bring together varied experiences and expertise in the fields of mouse genetics, molecular and cellular biology. We work in close collaboration with our partners to develop the next generation of drug discovery transgenic platforms. The GEO team is backed by other functional groups and a robust network of collaborators and consultants, forming a multifunctional unit. The Role As a Scientist in the GEO Team, you will work as a part of the team developing novel in vivo models for the discovery of biologics including bispecific antibodies, single domain antibodies, and transgenicT cell receptors. This role requires keen observational skills and attention to detail, data accuracy, critical thinking and collaboration with team members. The candidate will be using the very latest technologies and equipment to develop and characterize the next generation of Alloy animal models with the goal of helping others to make better medicines.This role will report directly to the Head of GEO with autonomy owning various stakeholders, projects,and tasks in a dynamic start-up environment while keeping up the pace of Alloy. How You’ll Drive Impact Research & Development : Using your technical skills to overcome challenges, troubleshoot issues and optimize processes to help the team deliver ambitious projects. Why We Value You You hold a PhD Degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or equivalent industrial experience (title will be aligned with experience). You possess good knowledge of mouse genetics and innovative techniques in generating transgenic mice. You are familiar with Genetic engineering: Design of targeting and screening strategy, vector construction and preparation, data analysis and troubleshooting. You possess comprehensive knowledge of genetic and functional characterization of in vivo models. You have a strong grasp of a wide range of molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, sequencing and CRISPR. You are familiar with NGS (Illumina, Nanopore and 10x genomics) library preparation and data interpretation. You have some experience with characterization of new mouse strains and antibody discovery. You have been exposed to techniques like flow cytometry, cell sorting, ELISA and binder’s characterization. You have a working knowledge and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to various software programs (i.e. Geneious Prime, Benchling, FlowJo) You apply meticulous attention to detail in scientific thinking and documented writing to ensure accuracy. This reflects your ability to effectively communicate and present information with clarity and precision. You cultivate a proactive approach, demonstrating a strong eagerness to learn and support the team in achieving success. You demonstrate an independent sense of urgency and are adept at driving projects forward through persistence and a commitment to integrity.
