Our partner is seeking a Principal Test Engineer to join their Test Department and report directly to the Test Engineering Manager. In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead test development and provide expert support across the business, serving as the technical authority for the test engineering team. You'll collaborate closely with the Test Engineering Manager to drive process improvements and enhance both test engineering and production test processes. Additionally, you'll mentor and guide the test team, ensuring that technical knowledge is cultivated and preserved. Key Responsibilities for the Principal Test Engineer: - Demonstrate expertise in innovative testing and development of complex electro-mechanical systems. - Define test objectives and conduct both production unit-level and full system-level functional tests. - Act as the technical lead for aspects of product design. - Provide leadership and technical guidance to the test team. - Develop high-quality solutions to validate products within budget, time, and quality constraints. - Lead and collaborate with the test team to enhance existing test methods. - Contribute to design authorities to ensure effective Design for Manufacturability DFM execution. - Oversee and mentor test engineers throughout the new product development process. - Possess extensive experience and knowledge of test equipment and methodologies. - Coordinate with broader engineering teams during early product design stages to meet production test requirements. - Engage with customers and suppliers on quality and project-related issues. Key Skill & Experience for the Principal Test Engineer: - Possess excellent knowledge of testing electrical and electro-mechanical systems. - Be able to write comprehensive test plans and factory acceptance tests for new product launches. - Possess an HNC or equivalent in Electronics & Control Engineering. - Be able to manage multiple priorities with flexibility and enthusiasm. - Be able to lead the team with the ability to liaise and work collaboratively and cross-functionally with all key stakeholders internally and externally.
