We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newham to assist with the appointment of a Passenger Transport Escort/Driver , on a 3-month contract , likely to be extended at clients discretion. Hours per week: 20 Rate of Pay: £13.65 - £16.84 per Hour Responsibilities: To drive a range of Council owned or hired vehicles including special purpose vehicles within the bounds of a PCV licence or D1 eg, coaches, mini-buses which may have been adapted to the needs of the disabled; or light vans from within the Council fleet. To carry out basic vehicle checks and routine maintenance tasks eg, water and oil levels, tyre pressures, to establish that the vehicle is working efficiently and is roadworthy before being used on the public highway and to report defects in writing using current procedures. To drive with due regard to other road users and to conform to all Road Traffic Regulations and Codes of Safe Working at all times. To ensure that any passengers in the vehicle are seated in a safe and secure manner using on-board safety equipment. To ensure that any materials or equipment carried in the vehicles are correctly loaded and secure. Qualifications: Knowledge of regulations governing the operation of the motor vehicle. Experience of working with children, vulnerable and disabled persons Experience of passenger carrying eg, children. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
