This is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to have massive impact - both on Fields projects and the wider energy industry. Key responsibilities include: Taking Field from being a code-taker to code-maker by driving specific code changes that better recognise and reward the benefits storage brings to the electricity system Delving into the detail of storage business cases to understand the effect on a profitability of specific costs and revenues including network charges, financing costs and new grid services Forming alliances with similarly-minded partners and organisations and using collective lobbying to achieve change with DESNZ, Ofgem, NGESO and within the code frameworks Communicating to internal stakeholders how energy policy updates and the implications of REMA will affect Fields strategy to develop, construct and operate its own storage portfolio Sharing important policy insights with colleagues in GB, Italy, Germany and Spain and feeding back what works in these countries to policy makers in GB The Skills you'll need Experience proposing and responding to code modifications, being a workgroup participant and an understanding of both pitfalls and routes to success to achieving code changes A deep understanding of at least one of the following codes: CUSC DCUSA Grid Code / DCode BSC In-depth understanding of at least one the following: Network charging methodologies (e.g. TNUoS, DUoS) Balancing Mechanism Capacity Market rules Able to communicate complex concepts and present cogent arguments to persuade and influence policy makers Understanding of the main parts of GB Energy Legislation and licence obligations of generators, network owners and NGESO Lifelancer ( https://lifelancer.com ) is a talent-hiring platform in Life Sciences, Pharma and IT.
