Payroll and Accounts Assistant , Warrington, £28,000 (Pro Rata, 3/4 Days , 25/30 hours The Company: We have a fantastic opportunity to join my client's growing team. They are based out of Warrington and are winning regular contracts and bids for new and exciting projects. The environment within the business is very tight-knit and super friendly. Purpose of the Role The primary purpose of this role is to manage the payroll function and support accounts administration for two businesses. This includes accurately processing payroll data, liaising with payroll bureaux, and handling payroll-related queries. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration: Collate and prepare weekly payroll data for both hourly paid and salaried employees. Accurately calculate and process shift payments, overtime, bonuses, holiday pay, SMP (Statutory Maternity Pay), and SPP (Statutory Paternity Pay). Address payroll-related queries from employees and management. Liaise with the payroll bureau for monthly payroll processing. Record P11d information and maintain accurate records. Accounts Administration: Track and process employee mileage claims. Manage uniform orders for both business units. Administer company credit cards, ensuring all transactions are recorded and processed accurately. Complete weekly customs clearance submissions. Provide cover for the finance team during periods of holiday or absence. Assist with other accounting duties as required. General Duties: Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by your manager or senior manager. Dimensions of the Role Working Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proactive and flexible approach. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and a curiosity about systems and processes. Ensure all tasks are completed with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Skills and Attributes: Strong attention to detail with excellent numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills. Perform well both independently and as part of a team. Experience and Qualifications Required Minimum of three years experience in payroll administration. Proficiency in Excel and confidence in using multiple bespoke software systems. In-depth knowledge of HMRC rules and regulations relevant to payroll. Previous experience in accounts administration is desirable but not essential
