We are seeking an experienced Payroll Senior/Bookkeeper to join this busy accountancy practice, overseeing a diverse portfolio of payroll clients and providing bookkeeping support. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing payroll, strong client communication skills, and proficiency in payroll software, particularly Sage and Xero. This role offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Senior/Bookkeeper to join this busy accountancy practice, overseeing a diverse portfolio of payroll clients and providing bookkeeping support. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing payroll, strong client communication skills, and proficiency in payroll software, particularly Sage and Xero. This role offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options.Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Senior/Bookkeeper Oversee and manage payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with regulationsAct as the primary point of contact for payroll queries from clients, providing expert advice and supportEnsure all payroll activities adhere to current legislation, including statutory deductions, pensions, and reporting requirements RTI submissionsLiaise with HMRC on behalf of clients regarding payroll mattersAssist clients with bookkeeping tasks, such as bank reconciliations, data entry, and maintaining accurate financial records Qualifications & Experience for the Payroll Senior/Bookkeeper Previous experience in managing payrollProficiency in payroll software, particularly Sage and XeroBookkeeping experienceStrong understanding of payroll legislation and regulations, including auto-enrolment, RTI, and statutory deductionsExcellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clientsStrong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client deadlines What’s in it for youAs the Payroll Senior/Bookkeeper you’ll enjoy 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with occasional extra free days to enhance your work-life balance.
