My client, a dynamic Automotive Technologies Products business, are looking to recruit an Applications Engineer with a strong interest and passion in pursuing a career within the Automotive / Motorsport sectors.We are currently recruiting for an Applications Engineer to join an established Automotive products company, based in the Milton Keynes area. The successful candidate will be involved in the complete life cycle of products, from conception, specification, user acceptance testing and pre/post-sales support, delivering innovative solutions to clients across the Automotive Industry Sector. Candidates will require a strong foundation in Automotive Engineering and previous experience of the Automotive Test Environment with the ability to understand and adapt existing products to meet customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: Analyse and identify current and future needs of Automotive customers, proposing innovative solutions to requirementsManage and lead all aspects of the product life cycle, from conception through to release, working to deadlines and adapting plans as necessaryNegotiate and agree actions and time scales for multiple, concurrent engineering projects with other project team membersCommunicate with the development and test teams and report back to management on product / project statusCreate and maintain detailed and accurate specifications that allow efficient development and testing of new products and featuresComplete user acceptance testing and provide feedback to the development teamsProvide expert help and guidance to the first line customer support team and other areas of the business as requiredProvide pre-sales advice to customers and distributors, helping with quotations and on-site customer demonstrations and training Experience Requirements: At least 2 years’ experience in the Automotive sector, ideally within a Vehicle Test EnvironmentHold an Automotive Engineering Degree HND may be considered with additional relevant experience within Vehicle Testing.Experience of collecting and analysing test data, ideally from moving vehiclesExperience in reading and understanding technical documentation such as Regulations, specifications and product data sheets/manualsAbility to understand and solve sometimes complex engineering problemsStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenA full, clean Driver’s licenceExposure to GNSS, INS and/or ADAS technologies would be highly beneficialPrevious experience in a Sales and Customer Management orientated role would be advantageous
