Boasting 75 private rooms and luxurious communal spaces, Meadowhill is tailored to meet the unique needs of residents in a safe and peaceful environment.As the Maintenance Person at Meadowhill Care Home, you will be responsible for the general upkeep, safety and repair of the care home. You will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.What’s in it for you The Butterfly Benefits:Blue Light Card employee discount schemeByond Prepayment Card employee cashback cardExtras Discounts employee discount schemeCycle to Work SchemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeRefer a Friend SchemeEmployee of the monthTeam social eventsStaff wellness fundLoyalty and long-service awardsEmployment Perks:Competitive salarySupport in achieving additional qualifications, including nationally recognised qualificationsComprehensive induction with free training and developmentAbout the role:Painting and decorating, general joinery, basic electrics and basic plumbingEnsure that all mechanical and non-mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment on the premises is maintained and in safe and clean working order, carrying out all necessary and mandatory checks on all fire and lighting equipment as well as other facilitiesKeep up to date with new developments and required maintenance checks for nursing homesCheck the maintenance books on all floors daily and action immediatelyKnow the location of fuse boxes, main stopcocks etc and how to turn off services if requiredCheck fire alarm systems weekly, ensuring all information is recordedCheck emergency lighting and water temperatures monthly, ensuring all information is recordedEnsure fire appliances are checked and serviced regularlyCheck all fire doors weekly and record any issuesCarry out quarterly fire drills and ensure staff follow fire evacuation procedures and assist with updating fire evacuation proceduresCheck all electric lights daily and replace bulbs as necessaryMake sure the Nurse Call System is in good working order at all times by carrying out regular checksCheck all pressure relieving mattresses monthly to ensure they are functioning correctlyCheck all beds and bed controls on a monthly basis and ensure they are working correctlyRedecorate all rooms and corridors as requested by the Home Manager or Head of FacilitiesAbout you:Proven experience in a similar maintenance or handyperson roleBasic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general repairsSkilled in painting and decoratingAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyA proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solvingStrong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe environmentUnderstanding of health and safety regulationsExcellent communication skillsFlexibility to respond to emergencies outside of regular hours if neededIf this sounds like the role for you, we would love to hear from you.
