Position: Manager, HSEQ Location: Glasgow Department: Operations Reports To: Vice President, Operations Position Summary Lead the HSEQ team in delivering comprehensive support to the Fleet and the wider Operations Team. Oversee the effective implementation of the HSSE & QA Policy and Safety Management System, ensuring operations are conducted safely and in an environmentally responsible manner. Regularly report to Senior Management on safety, environmental performance, and risk management, while safeguarding the company’s brand and reputation.Develop and implement HSEQ strategies aligned with company objectives, driving continuous improvement and safety excellence. Lead the creation and rollout of impactful HSEQ campaigns, initiatives, and improvement plans to promote a proactive safety culture.Strategically develop the risk-based Fleet Training Program, ensuring alignment with program goals and integration with operational priorities. Maintain an effective framework for fleet training and auditing, ensuring seamless program delivery and continual enhancement of fleet performance and compliance. Major Responsibilities Ensure health, safety, security, environment and quality (HSSEQ) is treated as the top priority across the company, driving Seapeak's Seven Standards in alignment with the company values. Act as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and provide expert advice on HSSEQ matters to the Management Team. Oversee fleet compliance with external management system standards (ISM, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, MLC & CMS), vessel internal audits, and external shipboard audits, ensuring follow-up and support where necessary. Work with Fleet Teams and Training Officers to establish risk-based focus areas, ensuring continuous improvement through internal training and ISO vessel auditing compliance. Manage the HSEQ department and provide strategic direction for the Safety Management System, including trend analysis, safety communications, and proactive improvements based on HSSEQ data. Coordinate HSSEQ objectives, targets, and performance reporting, delivering regular updates to Management and clients. Lead or support incident investigations, including audits, vessel visits, emergency response drills, and post-incident closeouts. Represent the company on HSSEQ matters with regulatory authorities and industry bodies. Promote risk management and fleet best practices across the company, including initiatives on health, wellbeing, and benchmarking analyses. Support HSEQ-related project work, company publications, and the Maritime Partners in Safety program. Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Strong understanding of the company's purpose, values, Seven Standards, and the ability to develop HSEQ strategic objectives, tactical plans, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to align with overall business goals. Extensive knowledge of international maritime regulations, including ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISPS Code. Proven expertise in marine industry HSEQ practices, marine incident investigation, and auditing, supported by a Certificate in Marine Incident Investigation. A Certificate of Competency at Class 1 Unlimited or equivalent maritime degree, with previous experience in an HSEQ management role. Demonstrable leadership, risk management, and decision-making skills, with experience in analytical problem solving, project management, and coordination. Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and engage teams to achieve HSEQ objectives, supported by strong reporting, communication, and customer service skills.
