OCC Technician Location: London Hours: Full Time Overview of the Business: Our client is a global leader in real estate and facilities management services and leverages the industry's most powerful knowledge base to meet the commercial real estate needs of its clients worldwide. Job Summary: To act as the first point of contact for critical alarm notifications across campuses, liaising with and providing information to the Client's Service Desk Team. Effectively supervise the daily operations of the maintenance team to ensure the efficient functioning of hard services facilities across data centres. Ensure a consistently high level of service delivery, with reactive tasks completed on time and within the customer's SLA. Collaborate with the OCC manager to support service delivery. Ensure adherence to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the data centre. Serve as the Technical point of contact for both Client and Site Technical Staff Ensure planned/reactive works meet client and legislative standards Monitor environmental controls to meet required specifications and tolerances Apply change control to documentation, software, and hardware Develop communication methods for changes with client and internal teams Review and manage alarm protocols Collaborate with site and client management during emergency procedures Oversee equipment inspections, testing, maintenance, modifications, and fault finding Investigate, diagnose, and resolve faults in mechanical/electrical systems and equipment Authorize start-up, operation, and shutdown of service plant, equipment, and systems Consult with Team Leader on operational, regulatory, and compliance matters Conduct technical and quality audits for statutory and technical compliance Provide technical input during investigations, root cause analyses (RCA), and problem-solving (A3s) Identify and propose system enhancements for improved resilience and performance Responsibilities: Supervise operation, maintenance, and repair of critical environment systems, ensuring 100% uptime and responding to BMS & EMS alarms. Develop, maintain, and oversee procedures (EOPs, SOPs, MOPs) for mechanical, electrical, and BMS systems, ensuring compliance with client standards. Monitor and respond to alarms, escalate per the alarm management matrix, and produce clear updates on actions taken. Manage BMS controls, including remote resets, temperature adjustments, and sensor calibration, ensuring optimal operation. Control the permit to work system, ensuring visibility of live permits and mitigating risks to data halls. Oversee and review switching schedules for maintenance, including coordination with contractors. Maintain logbooks, update the Si Local Ticket System, and track BMS defects through CMMS. Analyse PUE data for client reports and provide weekly Battery Monitoring and UPS discharge reports. Support shift teams, attend briefings, and assist in the training of technicians and apprentices. Communicate effectively with vendors, manage access permits, and ensure incident management reporting and improvements.
