JOB SUMMARY A Project Manager for Themed Entertainment and Experiences is a dynamic role that requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for creating immersive and unforgettable experiences. As a Project Manager, you will be reporting to the Director, Experiences | Land, and you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of themed entertainment projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including creative designers, engineers, fabricators, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. Role & Responsibilities: Lead the project team throughout the entire project life cycle Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements Oversee the on-site and off-site implementation of assigned projects Manage project budgets, review funds allocation for external resources, and coordinate budget modifications as needed Provide initial cost ranges for preliminary design components Collaborate with Director in developing and maintaining the project P&L Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external clients, ensuring effective communication and understanding of their vision and objectives Work closely with cross-functional teams including talent and recruitment, designers, technical directors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project integration Identify potential risks and challenges in project delivery and implement proactive strategies for risk mitigation Locate key suppliers, negotiating the company’s purchasing agreements, and making sure their materials and products meet the company’s specifications Maintain accurate documentation of project activities Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises work of others, including planning, assigning, and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. Define roles and responsibilities of the team and determine clear deliverables Responsible for the training and supervision of all staff to ensure proper adherence to all venue and company policies and procedures and to all Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations Responsible for the management of seasonal employees onsite for the duration of the project/event and managing payroll. Ensure artistic creative intent, character integrity, and intellectual property parameters are consistently met Qualifications & Skills: Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree – Field of Study – Project Management, Construction, or similar experience in themed entertainment or experience field preferred A valid driver’s license and Passport are required. Experience: Previous experience in producing and operating an experience, show or themed attraction Preferred experience in holiday or scare maze/haunt installations Extensive knowledge on technical installations in themed entertainment Extensive knowledge of the attraction and themed entertainment industry Proven experience as a Project Manager in themed entertainment or a similar industry Proven experience in sourcing and procurement for highly complex themed entertainment projects You have experience working collaboratively across organisations; strong leadership and interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and fostering effective working relationships You have strong communication skills, attention to detail and enjoy working in an innovative environment. Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timeline effectively Proven track record in all project delivery phases from concept to implementation Problem solver who is comfortable in a collaborative and fast-paced work environment Self-motivated and service-oriented communicator with substantial experience in over-the-phone negotiations and vendor affairs. Attentive to details in all professional matters and highly skilled in telecommunications. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Flexibility to travel and work on-site as required Key Competencies: Solutions-based troubleshooting Friendly and proactive personality Ability to interface with clients, coworkers, and labourers/talent to maintain a positive work environment Organisational skills – in office and on-site Excellent verbal communication skills and customer service - communicates through various mediums such as email, text, phone call, and in-person conversations. Detail Oriented Awareness of dangers and hazards associated with job functions and willingness to mitigate those risks Accountable for driving execution and delivery of high-profile technical projects from start to finish Participates in developing technical and business approaches and new or enhanced technical processes Able to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs and travel as needed Work Environment: While on-site, frequent exposure to unfavourable conditions such as all-weather, or working in cramped, very dirty, or unpleasant quarters. Because of the time constraints of most of the department’s projects, the Project Manager will often be on-site and need to work in hot/humid, cold/freezing, rain, and snow conditions to complete the job before the deadline. While in-office, there is a rare presence of abnormal variations in temperature and exposure to outside conditions. Physical Effort: Minimal – Physical effort represented by frequent handling of heavy objects (approx. 50-75 lbs.) and materials, or heavy hand tools. While on-site the Project Manager frequently operates heavy equipment and heavy hand tools. Standing for long periods of time and often kneeling or bending. While in-office, physical effort is light. Hazards: Frequent existing or potential hazards. Moderate existing or potential hazards. In office, there is very little exposure to hazards. While on-site, there is regular exposure to: working at height, working in and around heavy equipment, exposure to chemicals and regular use of cutting tools such as saws and grinders.
