We are looking for a Commercial Sales Manager to join our amazing client in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. About you You're a natural go-getter, with an entrepreneurial approach that means you can quickly identify the sweet spot between what businesses are asking for and what we can deliver, today. Experience in start-up / scale-up environments enables you to side-step challenges and roll your sleeves up to get things done. You understand the power of brand. You're conscientious enough to identify gaps in product-market fit, and able to clearly communicate obstacles to senior stakeholders so that we can identify the path to significant and sustainable growth long-term. In this role, you will Lead the expansion of our services from a primarily residential customer base to a market of small-to medium sized domestic-like businesses through the B4B product e.g. pubs, churches, care homes. Identify the best route to market through test & learn. Scaling the best approaches using resource from other teams, or by hiring / outsourcing. Get things done, not letting perfection get in the way of good, you will quickly make things happen to learn what works and what doesn't. Deliver relevant feedback from business consumers and suppliers delivering to businesses, to our product and senior exec teams using qualitative data gathered in the field to help us plan a product roadmap that will deliver maximum value. Ensure the right KPIs are in place and are managed effectively to track progress against plan and change course as required. Utilise our Business Insights team to provide in-depth reports on our marketing and sales performance. Your success will be measured by Revenue & profit Business repeat order rates Business Net Promoter Scores Sized business-product roadmap finalised for FY 2026 You'll definitely have Proven track record in B2B sales and business development, particularly in scaling new market segments or verticals in a start-up / scale-up environment Experience in building and executing go-to-market strategies, including testing and iterating different approaches. Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams and rally resources, both internal and external, to achieve business objectives. Excellent stakeholder management, able to effectively communicate product-market gaps and propose solutions to senior leadership. Experience with performance management, particularly in setting and tracking KPIs related to revenue, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Nice to have Experience in the energy or utilities sector, particularly oil or heating, or working with platform businesses. Knowledge of online platform technologies, including how to optimise user experience and supplier engagement in a B2B setting. Experience with out-bounding, direct mail, and/or email marketing Experience in managing or building out marketing/sales functions, especially within a new market or B2B context. Understanding of product development processes, particularly when creating a roadmap that meets evolving market demands. Experience working with small to medium-sized businesses and understanding the unique challenges and opportunities within the rural energy market.
